Heightened cyber threat: what organisations should do

Periods of geopolitical tension are consistently followed by a rise in hostile cyber activity against European organisations — from disruptive attacks on public services to espionage against government and industry.

EC3 advises organisations to revisit their incident response plans, confirm that backups are isolated and tested, ensure multi-factor authentication covers all remote access, and brief staff on the current phishing themes.

If your organisation observes suspicious activity, report it to your national cyber security authority and, where a crime is suspected, to your national police. EC3 coordinates the cross-border response.
